SATH has been approached by the Scottish Studies Foundation in Canada about a book that is in production. They are looking for someone to write a the evolution of History curriculum (elementary and secondary) from the 17th Century to the present day. The chapter would be between 2000 and 4000 words and would include reference to parochial schools, other denominational schools, adventure schools, ragged schools, industrial schools, grammar schools, burgh schools and academies. And of course, the value of teaching Scottish history both today and going forward (with some emphasis on developing and practicing critical thinking.)
